Describe yourself in three words.
Curious. Funny. Awkward.

I have a PhD in sociology.
Black cats are my favourite.
What is your favorite book from childhood?
Hoot by Jane Hissey
When you read, which authors are your go-to authors?
Joely Sue Burkhart
Zoey Draven
Laylah Roberts
Regine Abel
What book has made the biggest impact on your life?
Queen Takes Knights by Joely Sue Burkhart. I loved the world building, characterization, the powerful women.
Do you have any book related tattoos?
Not yet.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?
I remember the first time I watched Line of Duty. I actually screamed at the TV.
What subject could you talk about all day?
Gardening
What is your dream vacation destination?
New Zealand
What do you do for fun when you aren’t writing?
Baking, gardening, sewing
Are there any causes you support or which are important to you?
Diversity, Palestine, Environmental justice, Indigenous Activism.
How did you discover writing as a possible career?
I was a beta reader for an Indie author who showed me that I could write, too. I didn't need to have a writing degree or wait for someone else to validate my choices.
How did you choose your pen name?
I wanted something easy to remember and that had a classic feel like Anne Rice.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
I love myths, legends and dipping into history for inspiration, especially mixing things together to create something new.
What is the weirdest fact you've found when researching for a book?
Went down a rabbit hole looking into the history of hinges.
What trope is your favorite to write?
I love found family and writing primal romance.
What is your favorite thing about being an author?
I get to share my imagination with people and let my stories live in the minds of others.
What is your writing process?
I'm somewhere in the middle of plotting and pantsing. I like to plan some character and world stuff, and then get into writing a draft. Lots of the harder work happens during revision.
What time of day are you most creative?
In the morning, before my critical mind has had time to wake up.
What is your ideal writing environment?
In my study with cool weather and a steaming cup of tea.
As an author, what challenges do you face?
Perfectionism and imposter syndrome. It's hard to get out of my own way.
What is your least favorite part of being an author?
Realizing you're really a small business owner who happens to write.
If there was one thing you could change about the writing/publishing industry, what would it be?
More compassion and the championing of marginalized voices to write their own stories.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Find your writing community. Relationships have the power to change everything.
What is something you’d like to write, but haven’t yet?
I have a big omegaverse series living rent-free in my head that I'm champing at the bit to get to.
Which parts of yourself are reflected in your characters?
My characters know what they want, they're not afraid to be vulnerable.
Which of your characters have special meaning to you?
In With a Vengeance, the FMC's parents are dead. I wrote this book after my father and grandparents passed away in 2018-2019 and based her grief and anger on my own.
How do you come up with character names?
For my fantasy characters, I often just mix up different syllables and see what feels right.
What is something you love to hear from your readers?
That I made them cry. I'm not a sadist, I swear, but I love knowing that I moved them in that way.
Where can readers find you online?
